Carol Dekkers is an internationally recognized expert on the importance of communication and measurement in software development. She works with clients who want to maximize project success through measurement, effective communication, and scope management. She has consulted and presented to business leaders in over 25 countries regarding software metrics, functional size measurement, project scope management, and IT globalization. She works with corporations to ensure that their IT investments exceed business expectations.
Ms. Dekkers holds a designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and offers PMBOK(R) and PMP preparation class training. She is also a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Certified Function Point Specialist (CFPS), Certified Scope Manager (CSM, EU Certificates Association), and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.-Canada).
Carol has been a visiting scientist with the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), and in 2000 was named one of the 21 New Voices of Quality for the 21st Century by ASQ’s Quality Progress journal.
She is the author of the book “Function Points: Tools for Project Management Metrics”, and co-author of “Program Management Toolkit for Software and Systems Development” and “The IT Measurement Compedium: Estimating and benchmarking success with functional size measurement“. She is a contributing author on 4 other books including “Fundamental Concepts for the Certified Software Quality Engineer”, “IT Measurement: Advice from the Experts” and “Practical Project Estimation, 2nd edition”.
